Most of us who have dogs as pets are guilty of giving them treets, some of whatever we may be eating, including candy.
Dog lovers everywhere really should know that chocolate is toxic to your dog. It destroyes their liver and kidneys. This will shorten your dogs life span by years. Chocolate should not be left where your dog can help themselves. Case history. A friend of mine said their cocker spaniel ate there sons supply of chocolate candybars he was selling for a fund raiser. I made the mistake of telling her if her dog had eaten the six candy bars it would be dead because 3 would be enough to kill a dog. Needless to say she was angry with me and acused me of calling her son a liar. A week later she decided to prove me wrong and deliberately fed her dog 1 & 1/2 hershey bars, while she snacked also. That nite she called me crying her dog was sick. I told her she would have to take her animal to a vet. She did and her vet bill was $200.00 and he pumped the dogs stomach. He also told her the dammage was already done. Her pet cocker spaniel died within two weeks.
